Sculptures can do something very special that all other art struggles to live up to. Sculptures really transform a room and awaken curiosity, enjoyment and thoughtfulness. Some sculptures can hang on the wall, others need space where they can create a beautiful, interesting and exclusive atmosphere.

The artist and the creation of the sculpture

For an artist, the sculpture is the ultimate medium. The material in itself can be a challenge and be wildly exciting to start with, especially if it is unknown material being used for the sculpture. During the whole process, from the concept of the initial idea, the artist is constantly considering the possibilities, developing the idea, finding the materials, always testing how the material behaves as it transforms until the artist begins to see the final result. It is a fantastic experience. It is not just an idea that remains an idea or gets discussed, but an idea that becomes a tangible sculpture, an art form that comes to life.

Ornaments or art

Most of us have ornaments at home in the living room, reminiscent of art. It may look like something a craftsman has created with his own hands but it is likely mass produced in Asia. There’s nothing wrong with that, it can be beautiful and decorative and perhaps remind us of a certain time in our life. At GalleriMBK.dk you cannot buy ornaments or mass produced decorative items, only genuine art and real sculptures.

The Little Mermaid and the Statue of Liberty in New York

Sculptures can be really dull, can you, for example, recall some of the sculptures on roundabouts that you drive past? But a sculpture can also be incredibly exciting and make a great impression. Just think of The Little Mermaid for Denmark and the Statue of Liberty for New York and the feelings that arise.

Michael Brorsen and sculptures

Michael Brorsen is the owner of GalleriMBK and creates most of the sculptures at MBK meeting rooms. He does not make sculptures to please the masses, but to inspire the individual. Most of all, he creates his art for his own sake, because it is exciting to see what his latest idea can be, and whether it is possible to make this sculpture at all. Some of the sculptures in MBK meeting rooms are quite straightforward, instantly decorative and easy to understand, whereas you need to immerse yourself in others before you understand the point or discover the deeper layers.

Butterflies in sculptures

Other invigorating sculptures use butterflies. We use a lot of butterflies in our sculptures, for example, on copper, seashells and white glass. Butterflies are really hard to work with, as they are extremely sensitive and delicate, but It's really exciting to use butterflies in sculptures. They have only lived a short life, but can live forever in a sculpture. See which sculptures suit you. Do you want something challenging, or it simply to be decorative. Call or write if you have specific wishes or want suggestions for an interior design task, especially a task that includes sculptures.
